Create Positive Obsessions
It can be nigh impossible to turn off an obsession, and return to something you dislike or avoid - like work. Much smarter is to use bend your obsessive energy into more productive areas, and to use that energy to get better.
Some examples of positive obsessions might be:
- Self help websites, such as this one!
- Browsing monitoring websites, such as Pageaddict
- Replacing unhelpful email subscriptions for healthy ones - for instance quotes, news, or articles about your job interest or related to one of your goals
- Taking up a sport or external activity with someone - even if it is something fun like a film subscription, bowling, or a lunch date.
